|Aug 2023Pick up - hard sales pitches to try to get upgraded coverage Drop off - took 90 minutes and nearly missed my flight. Was charged for a missing hubcap when the car was missing 2/4 to start and was returned with only 1/4. I only drove a half tank total and have never lost a hub cap in my life. It took 60 minutes before they even got to inspecting the vehicle and another 30 for inspection and damage claim. The hub caps were clearly either put on poorly or did not fit the vehicle properly given the other missing ones.

|Feb 2023Pick up and drop off we’re both stressful. They seemed to be very understaffed. They also tried to trick us into buying their insurance even though everything I read said it wasn’t legal and that if we had coverage elsewhere that would work. At drop off there was no one to help us and a long line of people waiting to return their cars.

|Feb 2023Thieves. You should not be allowing them on your site. I knew a car rental wouldn’t be $15 like your advertisement but the dealer said it was about $100/day. Rushed me to sign off on “just a basic agreement “. Said gas was included (didn’t want that, too late) and I could return it empty. Reading contract for return, it said gas would be charged if I didn’t fill it up (I had to) and the price became $1,500+ for 9 days. Thieves! Thieves! Thieves!

|Feb 2023This was one of the worst car rental places I’ve ever been to. Be aware that Mexican law requires you to have personal liability insurance. This is why the rental rates themselves appear so low but then when you arrive you are forced to take out an expensive insurance policy. In our case a five day rental was $60 but the insurance was over $300. Even though we have car insurance provided by our credit card, this was limited to CDW so we were forced to buy the rental Companies insurance policy. While this is not unique to Europcar the attitude of the staff was not friendly. Everyone in the agency was fighting the same fight. The return process can also be very slow. In our case there were not enough staff processing car returns so it took over 30 mins.

|Mar 2023Price quoted online is not anywhere near what you will pay. They are pushy and confusing and will insist that you must add insurance that is 2-3 times the rate of the rental.

|Apr 2023The car ended up twice as expensive. It rattled like crazy. The check-in was long and not straightforward. Hidden fees, lots of pushing for extras, and a long wait. I went with a known brand because I had heard negative things about renting a car in Mexico. And for the most part the negatives were true.

|Apr 2023They gave us a car with the back indicator light not working, luckily we thought to check all lights before leaving lot.. mexico is notorious for pulling cars over, this would have been the perfect excuse. This created an hour delay as they had to get us a different car and new paperwork. Even though we brought our own collision insurance with a letter from our credit car provider, they tacked on a $10 daily charge for a tracking monitor.

|Jan 2026WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. THEY ARE A COMPLETE SCAM. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM. They extorted nearly $1000 from us for returning the car a few hours late. For context, that is more than we paid for the entire 2 weeks of the rental. They also did not give us the car that we ordered. We ordered a 14 passenger van and they gave us an 11 passenger one. KAYAK should remove them from their site.

|Dec 2025I was pretty sure that I selected a vehicle that was supposed to be picked up at the terminal and instead they had an employee at the terminal and a shuttle outside of the terminal so there was an inconvenience for us on our trip.

|Nov 2025A terrible experience. First, they asked me to sign without checking the car. They had one of the doors that didn’t close and we had kids with us. The car was dirty and smelled, I had to put gas a soon as I got the car because it didn’t have any. The service was horrible. They tried to charge me for an extra insurance policy for $500. When I went to return the car they “found some damage” that was on the video and pictures we took when we got the car. They didn’t want us to show all the pictures they had in the file. They went ahead and charged $800 more to my credit card. I’ve brought the issue to my bank because this is fraud!

|Feb 2024We used infinity due to their apparent competitive rates. However, they essentially force you go get their very expensive insurance. We knew they were offsite which we believed was why they were cheaper. However, when we took out the car they stated if didn't want to take their insurance we would have to put a hold of US$8000 on our credit card which could take 2 weeks to release. Their insurance was $55 a day (and still required an $800 hold). I found it all very underhand and shady. It's irrelevant if you had your own CDW insurance you would still have needed an 8k hold. The car itself was very old and in a poor state, there were warning lights on which we were told to not worry about and it sounded like it was on its last legs. Reading the reviews on google all of the top ones are negative, I can't believe they have as a high rating as they do, leading me to believe some are likely to be fake. Do yourself a favour and avoid.
