There’s a reason the sand-swept paradise of Aruba kicked off the list of idyllic destinations in the famed Beach Boys song, “Kokomo.” This romantic island is one of the most visited in the Caribbean, thanks to its shimmering waters, fantastic stretches of beach and sun-soaked days.

There’s no doubt Aruba’s beaches are some of its defining features. Lined with white sand, crystal-clear water and those beautifully twisted divi divi trees, shores like Eagle Beach, Baby Beach and Manchebo Beach beckon you to spend an afternoon under a palm thatch umbrella with a tropical drink in hand. Or you can explore some of the island’s other wonders, such as the natural pools or natural bridges that line the coast. For a break from the beach, you can head into the capital of Oranjestad for a bit of shopping and dining, or you can make the trek to Arikok National Park for a day of hiking or cave-exploring with Aruba’s wildlife at your side.

Take a look at the island’s beauty for yourself with this photo tour of Aruba.
