Fancy yourself an alien hunter? Or maybe you’re a UFO enthusiast who’s looking for a close encounter of the third kind. If you’re planning the ultimate out-of-this-world getaway, don’t miss these five must-see sites for alien enthusiasts.

Roswell, New Mexico

A must for any UFO hunter, Roswell makes for the perfect jumping off point for any alien-themed trip. It was here that conspiracy theorists believe an extraterrestrial craft crashed in 1947, and the town has embraced this possible intergalactic contact ever since. Don’t miss the Roswell UFO Museum or a chance to take a Roswell UFO tour.

Extraterrestrial Highway, Nevada

When it comes to road trips for alien enthusiasts, your best bet is the Extraterrestrial Highway, also known as Nevada State Route 375. This remote desert stretch has been the site of many UFO spottings, perhaps because it runs near the infamous Area 51 testing site. Beyond the sightings, you can also pop into the kitschy Little A’Le’Inn, a themed diner and motel that’s a must-see for UFO fanatics.

UFO Trail, Chile

Numerous UFO sightings in San Clemente, Chile led to the creation of the “UFO Trail,” a 19-mile path through the Andes. Along the way, you’ll find plenty of signage detailing the notable sightings in the area – and you may just experience your own UFO sighting while you’re there.

Stonehenge, England

Researchers still aren’t quite sure how these gargantuan stones were placed in the English countryside, and many conspiracy theorists will tell you this mystery was the work of something not of this world. Still not convinced? Stick around for the mysterious crop circles that pop up all year long in the fields surrounding Stonehenge.

Nazca Lines

Another puzzling piece of history, the Nazca Lines in Peru, are a series of geoglyphs carved into the Earth. The sheer size and perfection of these geoglyphs, which are best seen from high above, lead some to believe these must have been left by an intergalactic race. Others insist they were left behind by the Nazca people. So who really created these lines? Well, that depends: Do you want to believe?
