• You may have seen the sprawling turquoise sea and stretch of beautiful beach beneath you from the window seat on your Nerja flight, but no view compares to that of Nerja’s Balcón de Europa, or Balcony of Europe. This terrace lined with palm trees looks out over Nerja’s pebble beaches. Order some tapas and a bottle of Rioja and sit at one of the patios surrounding the Balcón.
• The Nerja Caves are just under two miles from the city center, and the breathtaking 30,000 year old murals and stalactite formations discovered deep inside draw thousands of tourists a year, making the Nerja Caves one of the most visited attractions. In the summertime, concerts and performances take place in the natural theater inside the cave.
