Airline tickets and cheap flights price comparison

Hop a flight to Nerja for some fun in the Costa del Sol sun and the opportunity to test your skills at water-sports and sailing in the Mediterranean. Nerja beaches feature miles of while sand and plenty small coves to explore. After a day in the sun, walk through the cobbled-stone streets of Old Town and enjoy a cocktail at one of the many bars and cafes in the area. It's worth taking a romantic walk from the cliffs to the beach, or through the gardens of Capistrano Playa. Kids will love Nerja’s biggest claim to fame, the pre-historic Caves, which are open during the day and evening.

Nerja Insider Information

  • Go to a concert in a cave.  During the summer months you can catch local and international performers in a huge cave which has been adapted as a concert hall.  During the day the caves are open from 10am–8pm as a tourist attraction and you can see the largest known stalactite (63cm in length). Don’t forget siesta time – there is no entrance from 2-4pm. Buses travel every hour from the bus stand at calle San Miguel in the north-east of the town.
  • The only downside to the lack of high-rise blocks is that accommodation can be limited. Check it out beforehand especially in high season in the summer. The campsite is 4km east of the town on the main N340 and is open all year round with pool, bar and restaurant. Nearby Almunecar is more likely to have accommodation if you are just passing through.
  • Local food is best value with fried fish (pescaito frito) the speciality.  Red mullet is particularly good: ask for De La Doncella. But, you will also be able to satisfy any cravings for full English breakfast..
  • The easiest way is to take a bus or taxi from the airport.  Malaga is closest, just half an hour away, and Marbella one hour away.  Once in Nerja you can hire mopeds to have your own independent transport.- and explore without walking up and down hills.  Most airports in Britain fly to Malaga and you can get there from Gatwick, Heathrow, Manchester, Newcastle, Stansted, East Midlands, Bristol, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
