What do your late-night munchies say about you? According to Miami’s EPIC, hotels can learn a lot about their customers by what’s missing in the mini-bar.

Understanding what items are most popular, and which items usually remain untouched, can help hotels anticipate the needs and wants of their guests, according to EPIC, a new hotel from Kimpton.

So, what do Miami guests tend to go for? Those stay at EPIC have quite a luxurious palette.

EPIC says its guests prefer bottled water, soda, Gatorade and energy drinks (which we’ll assume is due to the hot and humid weather). Fine wine and vodka is more common than champagne, and chocolate bars and organic crackers and cookies make a better late-night impression than nuts, mints and health bars.

EPIC is located in the heart of Miami, overlooking Biscayne Bay. The
411 guestrooms and suites all feature private balconies, LCD flat
screen televisions, in-room computers, high-speed Internet and Wi-Fi,
and more. The hotel’s island-in-the-sky pool deck was recently named
one of Travel + Leisure’s top eight favorite hotel rooftop bars in the
U.S.

“While certainly not scientific, our in-room honor bar helps us further understand our guests and their preferences, which allows us to best serve them,” said Joe Schwingler, general manager, EPIC. “We look at everything – from the look and feel of our lobby, to what we stock in our in-room refrigerator, to make sure we’re on the right track in serving our guests who seek exceptional service and a personalized experience in an environment that reflects their appreciation for style.”

We want to know: What are your favorite in-room snacks?
