Currently, if you want to fly from Vancouver (YVR) to Delhi (DEL) you’ve got to connect, and the trip will take longer than a day – about 25 hours.

That’s about to change. Kingfisher Airlines, a fast-growing Indian carrier, intends to launch nonstop service on the route, cutting transit time to about 15 hours. That’s a significant savings, in time and travail.

The carrier says it plans to field nonstop YVR-DEL flights as soon as possible.

Delhi is the largest international market not served via nonstop service from Vancouver International. The robust route attracts three types of passengers: business flyers, folks visiting friends and relatives, and vacationers. Each market is expected to grow, and Kingfisher’s new flights should spur that growth.
