Two new hotels are being built near McCarran International Airport by Western Hotel Partners, adding a combined total of 274 guest rooms.

One of the hotels is under construction at the southwest corner of Eastern Avenue and Sunset Road and will open in December, the Las Vegas Business Press reports.

The other will open at the southeast corner of Sunset Road and Grier Drive in late 2009.

Both hotels will feature outdoor pools, fitness centers, meeting rooms, and limited service breakfast, the newspaper says.

Rooms will include high-speed Internet as well as coffee makers, irons and ironing boards.

Rates will range from $120 to $140 a night during weekdays.

Charles Creigh, a principal with Western Hotel Partners, told the newspaper: “We are catering to business travelers, yet our proximity to the Strip enables us to pick up some tourist trade on the weekends.”
