There’s nothing quite like a solid playlist when you’re traveling. The right music sets the tone for excitement when we embark on a trip to a new destination. Music can help us survive the less fun aspects of travel (here’s looking at you economy seats, loud seat mates and long lines at TSA checkpoints) or mentally transport us to an island paradise when we’re stuck in the grind of daily life. And let’s not forget that music is also a powerful way to connect to a new culture or even kindred travel spirits.
Whether you’re looking for a little travel inspiration or need a playlist that will get you through your 12-hour flight, check out this list of great travel tunes (in no particular order).
