Forget about long-term airport parking and pay-by-the-hour garage service. SuperShuttle International announced it will offer a shared van service to passengers flying to/from Raleigh-Durham International Airport starting Jan. 3.

The service will start with 15 vans and expand its fleet as demand increases. David Bird, SuperShuttle’s Vice-President of Operations for the Raleigh-Durham area, said: “SuperShuttle has been on an acquisition track for the last several years, so we are looking forward to once again being able to build a ground-up operation.”

Parking at Raleigh-Durham International Airport ranges anywhere from $6 to $24 a day, depending on the time spent in the lot.

Michael McElvaney, Deputy Director for Operations at the airport, added: “We welcome SuperShuttle to the Raleigh-Durham Research Triangle Region. “We congratulate them on their business decision to provide shared van service, and are pleased to offer our customers expanded transportation options.”
