Inspiring kids has to be both the most important, and toughest part of being a teacher. Going beyond the classroom can make teaching an even more stimulating experience.

So, when we heard about an education program being run by a seaplane tour operator in Dubai we thought it was a pretty neat idea. Seawings’ 40-minute educational flight over Dubai brings a whole new meaning to ‘higher education.’

We suspect it’s much easier and enjoyable to feel engaged in issues relating to a particular city while you’re flying above it in a Cessna. We certainly wish we had classes like this when we were in school!

Though it isn’t academically certified, the flight does delve into the historic development of the city, the kinds of infrastructure required to support the city and human impacts on the environment. Given Dubai’s many goliath development projects, such as the Palm, the World and Burj Khalifa, there are few more relevant cities in the world right now to learn about geography, history, development, architecture and the economy.
