Happily ever after... spend your vacation in a castle

Germany is known for a lot of things. Its bold natives, beer, cuisine, history and architecture are just a few.

Sitting pretty as Germany’s largest state, Bavaria boasts snowy alpine peaks, meandering streams and lush forests. In addition to its natural splendor, it also has a wealth of historic buildings and art museums.

Nearby Munich offers the perfect dose of cosmopolitan and the quieter parts of Bavaria hold on tight to the days and palaces of Ludwig II.

Spend seven nights in a private apartment in Bavaria in a 14th century castle in Sommersdorf. Accommodations include an eat-in kitchen and basic groceries upon your arrival, as well as seven days of a rental car through Hertz (a category B car).

Travelers will also get help with trip planning, scoping out cultural events, and other extras throughout the medieval castle. All taxes and fees are included.

Travel from May 4–Oct. 12, 2011. In the spring and summer, enjoy the beautiful blooms of the countryside and the ease of making your way around, but in late September, travelers head to Bavaria for Oktoberfest festivities, which might be the perfect time for a beer lover to take advantage of this package.

Now all you need is a cheap flight to Munich.
