According to reports on USA Today, a small plane heading to Fernandina Beach has crashed into a home in Oakland Park, near Fort Lauderdale, Florida this morning, around 11:20 a.m.

Officials believe the aircraft is a twin-engine propeller plane called a Cessna 421.

Presently, television images show damages to the home, but no one was inside when the incident transpired.

Broward County Sheriff Al Lamberti verified that the 80-year-old pilot of the plane, Cecil A. Murray, was killed in the crash.
