It looks like United Airlines’ recent fuel price hike has considerable traction.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports hometown Northwest Airlines has joined other major legacy hub-and-spoke carriers in raising round-trip ticket prices by as much as $50. What’s up? The price of Jet A fuel. It’s flirting with $3.50 per gallon.

Northwest’s move means all six hub-and-spoke legacy airlines in the United States have hiked their prices in response to the rapid rise.

The list now encompasses American Airlines, United, Delta Air Lines, Continental, Northwest Airlines, and US Airways.
