Spring is in full bloom across the country, and for some of the best sights of Mother Nature’s colorful show, you won’t want to miss the millions of blooming tulips overtaking Washington state’s Skagit Valley during April’s Skagit Tulip Festival.

Every April, Skagit erupts with tulips numbering in the tens of millions as hundreds of acres of farmland overflow with brilliant bursts of yellow, pink, red, purple and orange in the ultimate homage to spring. How you enjoy the tulips is up to you: Stroll through local gardens, take a road trip throughout the colorful valley, join an organized bike tour or sign up for the festival’s Volkswalk, a non-competitive 5K or 10K along the Skagit River.

While you’re in town, you can also treat yourself to the Skagit Tulip Festival’s art shows, street fairs and barbecues. The festivities run through April 30.

Take look at Skagit in full bloom with the views below.
