If there’s one natural wonder that never fails to draw a steady stream of travelers, it’s waterfalls. Whether it’s a single stream jetting off an impossibly high cliff or a row of gushing falls rolling down a long ridge, waterfalls are some of the most beautiful attractions you’ll find in the natural world.

No two waterfalls are exactly the same. Some, like Sutherland Falls in New Zealand and Yosemite Falls in California fall in several cascades. Others, like the three waterfalls of Niagara Falls, often serve as the backdrop for romantic occasions like proposals or weddings. Some bring unexpected beauty to an already awe-inspiring site, like the green-blue pool at the base of Havasu Falls at the Grand Canyon. And when it comes to bragging rights, the 3,212-foot Angel Falls on Venezuela’s Auyantepui mountain takes the title of tallest waterfall in the world.

Today, enjoy this photo tour of beautiful waterfalls from around the world.
