Whether you’re looking for a romantic honeymoon or a picture-perfect family vacation, no one can deny the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. The eight islands off of the mainland’s west coast are arguably some of the most idyllic locales the U.S. has to offer. From palm-lined beaches to stunning volcanoes and oh-so-surfable waters, Hawaii is all too welcoming for visitors looking to relax by the shore.

Of the eight islands, Oahu is one of the most popular. It is home to famous beaches like Waikiki and city centers like Honolulu, as well as historic sites like Pearl Harbor. Meanwhile, the Big Island is home to two large volcanoes that are worth a visit: Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. For lush scenery, your best bet is the Garden Isle of Kauai, while Maui prides itself on its romantic beaches, majestic hiking trails and shores that are ripe with water sports.

Take a quick Hawaiian escape with this photo tour of the Hawaiian Islands.
