Riverboats are coated in nostalgia, from the sight of the water trickling down the paddle wheel to the slow rides these boats offer down some of the world’s most famous rivers. These classic vessels have long been associated with the South, but riverboats can be found throughout the U.S. and even in Europe and Asia. Beyond the Mississippi and Tennessee Rivers in the U.S., riverboats also cruise along rivers like the Colombia River in the Pacific Northwest. Overseas, you’ll find riverboats slowly making their way down famous waterways like the River Thames in London. Even Disney gets in on the riverboat action with the Mark Twain Riverboat at Disneyland and the Liberty Belle Riverboat at Walt Disney World.

Take a look at these riverboats from around the world with this photo tour.
