Argentina’s glacier-laden Patagonia is one of South America’s most serene frontiers. Filled with natural wonders like rolling ice sheets, incredible blue glaciers and fields of flat, icy peaks that rise up like a meringue pie, Patagonia is one of those rare destinations where you can truly slip away from modernity and reconnect with the wonders that only nature can create. Among the lakes, mountains and national parks throughout the region, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to see local wildlife like penguins, sea lions, dolphins and even whales.

While many make the trek to Patagonia to hike along the glaciers and soak up the solitude, others enjoy the bit of bustle that comes with bars and cafes found in the region’s tourist-laden cities. But whether you’re the outdoorsy type or a big city slicker, it’s hard to resist the siren song of Patagonia’s untouched scenery.

Take a little time to reconnect with the wonders of nature through this photo tour of Patagonia.
