The entry of discount airlines AirTran Airways and JetBlue into Newburgh (SWF) has altered the skyscape in the middle Hudson Valley profoundly, bringing cheaper flights to more places.

Now, there is word that AirTran is about to launch another Florida flight, this one from Newburgh to West Palm Beach (PBI). November 7 is the start date, and makes for AirTran’s third nonstop Florida city out of Newburgh.

There will be a single daily round-trip on the route, and AirTran is selling seats for as low as $99, one-way. That’s the lowest leisure fare. The lowest last-minute walk-up rate is $199, and AirTran will sell you a Business Class seat for $299.

Flight 595 is scheduled to depart Newburgh at 2pm each day, and get to the gate at West Palm Beach at 5:20 in the afternoon.

The return flight is #597. It’s scheduled to depart PBI at 5:55pm, and arrive at SWF at 8:40pm.
