Looking for more Mexico and Caribbean flight options? Airlines are laying on loads of new routes. Among them:
- Discount airline JetBlue’s veritable air bridge between Fort Lauderdale and San Juan. The carrier plans to add two more daily Fort Lauderdale flights to San Juan beginning in May 2012. That will make for six daily flights.
- JetBlue’s new White Plains flights to Nassau. Once-daily flights just got off the ground, and they mark Westchester County Airport’s only nonstop international flights. Southbound White Plains flights to Nassau depart at 8:10 a.m. and arrive NAS at 11:10 a.m., in plenty of time to check into your hotel room and hit the beach. Return Nassau flights to White Plains push back at 12:05 p.m. and get to the gate at Westchester County Airport at 2:55 p.m.
- Discount airline VivaAerobus is bringing its ultra-low fares to Miami and Orlando, linking both cities with Monterrey. The carrier offers twice weekly Miami flights to Monterrey. Southbounds depart at 8:45 p.m. and arrive at 11:15 p.m. Return flights leave at 3:15 p.m. and arrive MIA at 7:45 p.m. Orlando flights to Monterrey are once-weekly affairs. They depart Saturdays at 1:20 p.m. and arrive at 3:35 p.m. Return Monterrey flights to Orlando depart Saturdays at 8 a.m. and arrive Orlando at 12:20 p.m.
- Finally, an intra-Mexico flight that might be of interest. Aero Calafia now connects the Islands of Loreto with both Cabo San Lucas and Tijuana. Loreto offers some of Baja California’s most extraordinary vistas of the Sea of Cortez and the Giganta Mountains. If you’re in search of something a bit off the beaten path this just might be it.
