Starting tomorrow, April 17, National Park Week begins, which means it’s the perfect time to plan a little last-minute travel to see land in action. Until April 25, all 392 National Parks will offer free admission and special events like guided hikes, junior ranger programs, service projects, interpretive programs, and moonlit canoe trips.

From the heights and trails of Yosemite to the Statue of Liberty, national parks all over the country will open their gates to travelers who want to learn more about some of our country’s most celebrated and revered historical and natural sites.

Some special events include a children’s program about bears at Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Alaska; a special evening program at the Shrine of the Ages Auditorium about landscape photography at Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona; and a volunteer opportunity to help the Elkmont Nature Trail Community Service Project at Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina.
