Renowned Asian chef Martin Yan has opened a new restaurant at San Diego International Airport in collaboration with travel dining firm HMSHost.

Yan Can is situated in the pre-security area of Terminal 1 and is the first airport branch of Yan’s North California restaurant chain.

The menu will feature traditional Asian favourites such as Kung Pao Chicken, as well as Yan’s signature dish of Chinese Chicken Salad.

Thella F Bowens, President and Chief Executive of San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, said: “We are listening to the needs of our passengers and are pleased to provide them with celebrity chef dining options like Yan Can.

“We are pleased to work with HMSHost to deliver such efficient and high-quality experiences to our airport’s travelers.”

There are several new food outlets planned for the airport this year. Others include Brioche Doree Cafe & Bakery in Terminal 1 and a Starbucks Coffee in Terminal 2, East.
