In an effort to contribute to the world of green chic (and the planet as a whole), Loews Hotels (headquartered in New York) has teamed up with EPA’a Energy Star program. Improving energy efficiency across its assortment of 17 hotels and resorts in the U.S. and Canada, Loews rises to the occasion and makes much needed and appreciated changes on its properties.

Working with Energy Star (the EPA’s method of identifying efficient products that reduce greenhouse gas emissions), the hotel chain will strive to reduce energy consumption and pollution in the property’s geographic regions.

The Orlando, Florida property, for instance, boasts occupied and unoccupied temperature set points for every room, allowing guests to be comfortable while simultaneously benefiting the environment. Other initiatives include laundry waste recycling programs, efficient distribution of clean water, and energy management strategies.

Loews is hardly new to appeasing niche masses, however. The brand also created travel programs for children and pets as well. Adding eco-friendly initiatives simply adds to its wide base of accommodating travelers with specific interests and discerning tastes.
