George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Houston, is the fourth-fastest growing airport in the world and hopes to attract more international carriers over the coming years.

Emirates, the Middle Eastern airline, starts a new service between IAH and Dubai next month. Officials are already looking to additional international routes.

Rick Vacar, Head of Houston Airport Systems, told the Houston Chronicle that this latest service marks the airport as a major destination for international travelers. “They are coming,” he said of other international carriers rumored to be setting up services to and from Houston.

Names already linked to potential schedules to the airport include China Airlines, Korean Airlines and Scotland-based City Star Airlines.
