The Providence Oyster Bar is set to debut in the airport in September. Locals love it, and so do people such as the Distinguished Restaurants of North America. The organization gave its Award of Excellence to the restaurant in the past couple of years.
Lots of nationally branded restaurants are set to land at PVD soon. All this is under the aegis of HMSHost’s 13-year contract to upgrade eating options at the Rhode Island aerodrome.
Look for Wolfgang Puck Gourmet Express to open in October. A new 5,100-square foot food court will include the likes of Famous Famiglia, and Johnny Rocket, a retro hamburger diner.
As airlines cut back on in-flight food, airports are serving up more, and better, fare than ever these days. Providence is a prime example.
T.F. Green is a significant New England focus city for discount airline Southwest. Although the carrier serves free snacks, it – along with other discount airlines – does not offer meals.
