An aircraft company has announced that it has developed a ‘flying car’ which can operate on the road as well as in the air.
Terrafugia claims that its Transition Roadable Aircraft Proof of Concept can change from plane to car within just 30 seconds.
The development is a two-seat aircraft that has been designed to allow it to take off or land at local airports and also be capable of driving on roads.
It can fly at 451 miles above the ground at a speed of 115 miles per hour and has been tested over the last six months.
Carl Dietrich, Chief Executive of Terrafugia, said: “This breakthrough changes the world of personal mobility. Travel now becomes a hassle-free integrated land-air experience. It’s what aviation enthusiasts have been striving for since 1918.”
