Faster check-in is on the way at Edmonton International Airport (YEA).
If you’re flying discount airline WestJet on domestic Canadian routes out of the airport, officials say you’ll be able to move through the process more quickly once renovations are complete on new flow-through check-in counters this fall.
In the meantime, look for some dislocations. WestJet has moved from its previous check-in area to a temporary location farther north on the main concourse of the North Terminal. If you’re dropping off passengers that means you should look for door 25 and 26.
WestJet has morphed into a major player at Edmonton International in the past few years. This spring, YEA passed Vancouver International (YVR) as the discount airline’s third-largest domestic hub, helping Edmonton lay claim to the title of Canada’s fastest-growing major airport.
