Delta Air Lines has teamed up with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to offer paperless check-in at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
The initiative will see passengers with mobile or Web-enabled devices able to check-in remotely and receive an electronic boarding pass.
Passengers wishing to use the system must be traveling to domestic destinations with Delta from LaGuardia.
To use the system, flyers will have to visit delta.com on their mobile devices to check-in and download boarding passes, they will then be able to pass straight through to security.
TSA officials will then scan the electronic pass. Passengers with luggage can check bags at the baggage drop counter.
Steve Gorman, Delta’s Executive Vice-President of Operations, said: “Delta’s time-saving technology puts customers in control of their experience and provides them with valuable convenience.
“Passengers can now quickly check-in for their flight while en route to the airport in a taxi or walking from the parking lot to the terminal. The check-in process now can take place from anywhere, any time within 24 hours of flight departure.”
