Sometimes, travel can lead to unexpected situations and a smart traveler will always be prepared. Thankfully, cell phones and PDAs make it easy to adjust late-minute plans. Now, with the addition of new travel applications for the iPhone, teched-out travelers can book flights and hotels at the click of a button.
The newest in the travel app line-up: Choice Hotels.
Choice Hotels launched a new iPhone application which allows users to find and reserve rooms at any of the 5,800+ Choice hotels in the world. Brands included Comfort Inn, Clarion, MainStay Suites and other budget spots. Good news for travelers who might find themselves delayed or detained in unfamiliar destinations.
Does it work? You bet. We tested it on a few iPhone’s around the office and found the following (pardon the pun) ‘choice‘ options:
– Search by date, city or hotel name.
– Maps detail where all the hotels are located in a particular city. You can also get directions to the hotel based on your current location.
– Gives information on hotel amenities including distance to/from popular attractions and airports.
– Make changes to or cancel existing reservations.
What’s genius about this feature is the budget-friendly brand. There are a few travel sites who have launched iPhone applications that allow travelers to book on-the-go, but when you’re in a bind and need a quick and cheap alternative, this app is helpful.
Overall, Choice Hotel’s new iPhone application is a great addition. Download it for free and find a cheap hotel room in a pinch, no matter where you are.
