Sunday is National Chip and Dip Day, and we can think of no better way to pay tribute to America’s favorite munchie combo than by taking a look at what chips and dip looks like around the world. Here’s a look at four international variations of this classic snack.

Mexico

Cheese is a way of life in Switzerland, and it certainly makes for a great dip. Fondue as we know it – melted cheese and wine – originated in the late 19th century in western Switzerland, and it’s typically served with bread, vegetables or other finger foods that are dipped directly into the cheesy goodness.
