Now that spring is here, there’s no excuse to stay inside all day, especially on vacation. Sherman’s Travel has put together a list of 10 destinations that are the best places to go sans car. Once your flight touches down, you’ll be free of engines for the rest of your stay, helping both the environment and your budget to relax.

Here are a few places that make it easy to ditch the car, grab a bike, and explore the dazzling streets, beaches, and restaurants that each destination calls its own.

Aspen
When you book a flight to Aspen, you can stroll around the beautiful Victorian streets set among the gorgeous backdrop of peaceful mountains. Durant Avenue, charming with boutiques and bistros, and lit with the joy of the Aspen Music Festival in the summer, is the perfect place to set out on foot. This place wasn’t just made for winter, after all.

Avalon
Nestled on Catalina Island, just a stone’s throw from Long Beach, California, Avalon boasts glorious Mediterranean climate, no matter what season it is. With absolutely no freeways in sight, this seaside paradise is donned with Art Deco architecture and 1920’s relics that are too beautiful to whiz by in a car. Book a flight to Avalon to walk around and take it all in, then head into the Pacific.

Nantucket
This place wasn’t designed with cars in mind, so when you book a flight to Nantucket you’ll see that locals and tourists exist on two wheels. Bikes are everywhere, and with a pair of comfy sandals, you can explore the cobblestone streets on foot, and gaze at the picturesque homes, boutiques and galleries that make New England so special.

Others car-free destinations that Sherman’s recommends are Fire Island, Little St. Simons Island, Lopez Island, Mackinac Island, Monhegan Island, Nags Island, and South Padre Island.
