Used to be, in a magic far-off time, that airlines passed around sweets aloft. Free. Mostly, that’s a misty, watercolor memory now. If you’ve got the craving for something sweet, you have to bring it with you.

It’s easier to do precisely that now that Candy Express has opened a shop in the AIRMALL at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). You’ll find a couple of locations: the new one, which is in the AIRMALL pre-security, and a second store out on Concourse D.

Can’t take sugar, but still love the taste? Candy Express has a decent selection of sugar-free treats too.

Baltimore/Washington is the Beltway’s prime portal for discount airlines. Southwest is a commanding presence there, and AirTran Airways also has a firm foothold.
