This is low season in British Columbia, the time tourists usually seek warmer climes. How’s this to heat things up, to draw you to the Canadian Pacific Northwest? Right now there’s a  Dine Around & Stay in Town promotion going on. It serves up three-course meals in some of Victoria’s best restaurants for $20, $30, or $40 per person CND. The accommodations are equally easy on the budget, They range from $69 per person CND to $129.

The deals run February 17 through March 16. One way to make a romantic, affordable, time of it is to postpone your Valentine’s Day celebration a few days, say until the 17th.
Among the dine and stay options:

– A $30 CND repast at Chez Michel Restaurant. Start out with an appetizer, followed up by Filet of Sole Meuniere and Crème Caramel for dessert.

Aura Waterfront Restaurant & Patio’s $30 CND feast starts out with Sloping Hill Pork and Local Hazelnut Pâté. Next is the entrée, Orange Thyme Scented Steelhead Trout. For desert order up Marshmallow & Bailey’s Cream Hot Chocolate. Sip oh-so-slowly. Savor, even slurp.

– As for hotels, how about a couple of nights in Victoria’s romantically resplendent Fairmount Empress for $129 per night CAD? It’s hard on the shore of Victoria matchbox harbor. You can’t miss it. The enduring edifice dominates the scene.

While you’re in town bicycle around, or hire a horse-drawn carriage to do the light lifting of your spirits. This time of year the crowds are sparse. It might just seem it’s the two of you who rule supremely sublime piece of British Columbia. Reign well.
