Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) has introduced new real-time flight tracker and weather maps.

BWI has put these monitors up around the airport. They display up-to-the-minute geographical information about your flight – where it is, how far out it might be. On an adjacent map there’s real-time weather, the better to help you gauge what conditions could be affecting that flight.

If information is power, this should help you decide what your options are, how better to cope.

Some 20 million flyers pass through BWI each year, the Washington area’s prime launchpad for discount carriers such as Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways.

Helping bolster its image as a flyer-friendly place, BWI is offering discount parking this summer. Through September 1, the rate is $9 per day in the Express Parking Lot. This lot offers carside to curbside shuttle busses and luggage assistance. For details, and a coupon see www.bwiexpressserviceparking.com.
