Take a gamble on a Las Vegas weekend. A trip to Sin City never disappoints, especially with this handy guide of everything you need to know before you go.

STAY:

Classics like MGM Grand, Ceasars Palace and Mandalay Bay are always good choices with reasonable prices. New options like The D and Aria are super swanky and often have some great deals.

EAT:

Burger Bar calls itself the ultimate burger experience and we’d have to agree. Start by choosing a base (options include kobe, lamb and buffalo), then make it your own with more than 50 toppings (everything from black truffles to homemade chili). Wash it all down with a Nutella milkshake or salted caramel martini. For a real Vegas experience, Tao doesn’t disappoint. It’s part eatery, part nightclub so go for the food (the chilean sea bass is a must) and stay for the fun. If you’re pulling out all of the stops, N9NE Steakhouse is the place to go for surf ‘n turf and maybe a celebrity sighting.

DO:

There is no shortage of things to do in Vegas. Obviously everyone wants to play a hand or two at the best casino–that distinction is tough but top honors go to the Bellagio for its decadent atmosphere. History buffs will want to check out the Flamingo, opened in 1946 by mobster Bugsy Siegel. When you’re ready to take a break from the blackjack table, catch the (free!) fountain show at the Bellagio and plan a visit to Eli Roth’s Goretorium, a year-round interactive haunted house. Still looking for more of a thrill? Ride the roller coaster at the New York, New York hotel. A show or two is also a must: We suggest Cirque du Soleil, Celine Dion or Jersey Boys. For clubs LAX and the aforementioned Tao are great at night. After everything you’ll definitely need rehab–and by that we mean the legendary pool party, Rehab, every Sunday at the Hard Rock Hotel.
