Pop sensation Clay Aiken was reportedly involved in an onboard scuffle at the weekend, while flying to Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Raleigh, NC-native, who finished as runner-up to Ruben Studdard in the second season of American Idol, got into a dispute with a female passenger during his Continental Airlines flight.
According to FBI agent Gary Johnson, the two became involved in an argument over the singer’s foot resting on the woman’s armrest.
It is alleged that the unnamed female passenger gave Aiken a “minor shove”, following which “the flight crew was able to resolve the situation”, Johnson said.
Both passengers were detained until FBI interviews could be held, said Alexis Higgins, Tulsa Airport Authority Spokeswoman.
No injuries were reported, nor charges filed, Johnson confirmed.
According to attendees of Aiken’s concert that evening, he quipped that he’d beaten up by a girl that day.
Aiken’s representatives declined to comment on the altercation.
