Boeing has been in the news frequently for its lack of sales and delays in its 787 Dreamliner, and its European rival, Airbus, seems to be on the receiving end of its downward spiral. In the last few weeks, Airbus as solidified major deals with airlines, and Air Austral can now be added to the list.
The airline, based out of the United Arab Emirates just ordered two high-density Airbus A380s that can seat up to 840 passengers. While no actually cost of purchase has been recorded, the move could cost up to $335 million, according to catalog prices.
Similarly, Nepal Airlines just ordered the A320 and the A330, which both were shown at the Dubai Airshow.
American plane-maker Boeing has yet to make a sale in Dubai, but recently signed a deal with Emirates to help its investment in the aerospace industry. Emirates is also in the process of making critical buying decisions with both Airbus and Boeing.
