Charlotte just got a little sexier, thanks to Bank of America.

The nation’s largest bank is slated to open a new, eco-friendly Ritz-Carlton hotel across the street from its corporate headquarters in North Carolina.

With hundreds of properties worldwide, why all the fuss about this Ritz?

This Ritz-Carlton hotel will be Charlotte’s first five-star hotel and the first-ever LEED certified hotel for both the city and the chain.

The 18-story luxury hotel will have gourmet dining, skyline views, a penthouse wellness center/spa, and will be LEED Gold certified, according to the Ritz-Carlton Web site.

According to the Web site, the Ritz-Carlton Charlotte will open in October 2009 and the hotel will start accepting reservations sometime this summer.
