Southwest Airlines has crossed the $10 million mark after years of fundraising for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (Web site: www.rmhc.com), which support programs to improve the health and wellbeing of children.

The money was raised after the carrier spent more than two decades sponsoring and coordinating the LUV Classic golf tournament.

Debra Benton, Director of Community Relations and Charitable Giving for Southwest Airlines, commented: “The Ronald McDonald Houses are very special to Southwest Airlines. For 25 years, we have developed an extraordinary bond with their houses and residents.

“It all started with one employee volunteering at a house to serve dinner and has grown to being Southwest’s favored charity. We thank all the corporate partners and employees who helped us surpass this milestone of $10 million.”
