The value of traveling home for the holidays is priceless. So say four out of five adults according to a poll commissioned by Yahoo!

To be precise, 83 percent of adults surveyed say you simply can’t attach a price on going home for the holidays. Yahoo! says that more than half of those polled (56 percent) say their dream holiday is spending time with family, wherever that may take them.

More interesting insights from Yahoo!:

– Two in five (38 percent) of U.S. adults planned to travel during the holidays this year. Among the nearly half (48 percent) of those who won’t be traveling, 26 percent say the prime barrier is cost;

– Many of those who will travel prefer the beach, or perhaps a tropical clime (33 percent). Following close behind at 29 percent is that visit home;

– Two in three adults (68 percent) say spending time, quality time, with relatives is what they love most about the season;

– Significantly, one in four adults (24 percent), according to the Yahoo! survey, say confiding in kin about what’s happening in their personal lives is precisely what they like least about being with those family members;

– This final figure just goes to show that some folks would almost always want to be somewhere else. A third of those polled (33 percent) say they’d rather be doing something else just now, apart from their plans for the holidays.

Bah, humbug.
