Flyers accustomed to catching shared-ride transportation via KCI Shuttle in Kansas City (MCI) need to know the company has been purchased by SuperShuttle, the folks with the blue and gold vans. It happened in time for the December holidays.

The move means good rates, and efficient booking via a 24-hour per day call center. You can also go online to book, at www.supershuttle.com.

SuperShuttle’s service is virtually always cheaper than taxicabs although not always as fast. Because you share the trip with other riders, folks bound for other destinations, you often have to stop en route. Still, SuperShuttle drivers are knowledgeable, courteous and know what they’re doing, not always the case with cabbies.

To make grabbing a shuttle van easier, SuperShuttle is installing computer kiosks in Kansas City’s baggage claim area. This, MCI officials say, is a first-in-the nation deal for SuperShuttle.
