No trip to New York City is complete without pizza – hot, gooey, cheesy pizza. From slices to pies, we have a list of our picks for the top spots coming right up. You’re welcome.

Totonno’s Pizzeria Napolitano

A trip to Totonno’s is a must for any die-hard pizza fan, especially if white pizza is your thing. The Coney Island eatery is famous for theirs – a decadent pie topped with fresh mozzarella, pecorino romano, garlic and olive oil.

The lines at this Brooklyn pizza spot are as legendary as the pies. If you have the time it’s well worth the wait. Zagat repeatedly bestows THE best pizza honors upon the eatery. (And the views of the Brooklyn Bridge make the wait a little bit better). If lines aren’t your thing, the restaurant’s been franchised everywhere from Nevada to Texas — though nothing beats the original.
Hit this New York City West Village establishment (opened in 1929) and you’ll be glad you did. The worn booths give it a laid-back, comfortable feel and celebrity pictures all over the wall attest to the fact that what you’re eating is definitely one-of-a-kind amazing.
A relative newcomer to the gourmet pizza scene, Motorino’s in the East Village is always packed – and with good reason. The pies are incredibly fresh with softer dough than most and fun toppings like brussel sprouts, farm fried eggs and cherry stone clams. There’s also now an outpost in Hong Kong.
The trek down to the financial district is a small price to pay for an old fashioned square pie from Adrienne’s. They’re crispy, crunchy and topped with some of the best seasoned tomato sauce in town.
Considered the oldest pizza establishment in the city (opened in 1905), Soho’s Lombardi’s is everything you’d picture a good old fashion joint to be: checkered table clothes, coal ovens and brick walls. You can’t go wrong with a plain pie but their specialty is topped with clams.
Inventive variations are what’s for dinner here at Greenpoint’s Paulie Gee’s. Think pies like: Grapeful Dead topped with baby spinach, olive oil, mild gouda, shaved parmigiano reggiano and pickled red grape halves, or Cherry Jones which is topped with fresh mozzarella, gorgonzola cheese, prosciutto di Parma, dried bing cherries and orange blossom honey

Louie & Ernie’s

Another longstanding spot, this Bronx mainstay serves what many refer to as the best slice! The sausage topping also gets rave reviews.
