For some skiers and snowboarders, it’s enough if the snow is fast, the mountain properly manicured, and the avalanches prevented. Others demand more from their trip to the slopes. The best of both worlds can be found at Utah’s Park City Mountain Resort:

  • Climb aboard the Alpine Coaster, a toboggan-style ride that whisks you past the Wasatch Mountains as you climb to the top of the track, then sends you back down the mountain letting you traverse about 4,000 feet of curves, bends and loops.
  • Discover your competitive side. NASTAR lets you race either the clock or your friends in side-by-side competition. The course is on Park City’s Blance run, and is accessible via the PayDay Lift.
  • Haven’t summoned up enough adrenaline yet? Try the Flying Eagle, a new two-person zip line. The ride is open throughout the winter, weather permitting. You must be at least 42 inches tall to ride.
  • Want to go dashing through the snow on your way to a warm meal? No one-horse open sleighs here. Just a snowcat-towed conveyance that transports you to a Viking Yurt. There, before your frosted eyelids, are hosts waiting to welcome you with mugs of hot spicef glogg, followed by a five-course dinner set to live music from a baby grand piano. Bring a blanket fitted with waterproof backing…and your appetite.
