The first commercial flight at Somerset in Kentucky took place last weekend.
Lake Cumberland Regional Airport’s first commercial service departed last Saturday, December 27 2008.
The new flight is being operated by Air Azul, and will be offered on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Harold Rogers, a U.S. Congressman, told The Commonwealth Journal: “This is one small step for Air Azul and one giant leap for Somerset.”
Limited service will be offered until spring, when officials hope to increase flight at the airport.
