It doesn’t make a lot of sense to land a great discount airfare, only to have to pay out the nose for a cab ride when you get off the airplane. That’s the premise upon which SuperShuttle operates, and the concept works well at 28 airports across the country. Now, a new field for the shared-ride shuttle: Raleigh/Durham International (RDU)..

Armed with 15 blue and gold vans, SuperShuttle recently started service from RDU to and from downtown Raleigh, North Carolina hotels and the convention center. SuperShuttle plans to expand its route to Durham, Chapel Hill and surrounding communities within the Research Triangle area.

SuperShuttle is almost always cheaper than a cab, sometimes significantly so. However, you’ll trade cost for time – the service is a shared-ride with other passengers, some of whom get off at their stops before you reach yours.
