Delta launches new Atlanta to Prague service

Talk to travelers about neat “new” destinations awhile and “Prague” almost always pops up. There’s a real hunger to experience the grandeur of Eastern Europe, and the Czech Republic is a propitious place to start. Prague’s (PRG) new-found popularity is one of the reasons Delta Air Lines www.delta.com just launched nonstop service to the city out of its Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL) megahub. Initially, there is a quartet of weekly flights. That goes to five weekly nonstops starting June 4.

Delta is flying a 767-300ER on the long-haul transatlantic route. The big Boeing is fitted for 214 seats to Economy and BusinessElite. Up front that means 60 inches of legroom, and all sorts of perks. In the back of the airplane things aren’t bad either: new all-leather seats, amenity kits, better food and a complimentary cocktail with that meal.

Delta is code-sharing this new service (Flight 62 from ATL to PRG/Flight 63 from PRG to ATL) with SkyTeam alliance www.skyteam.com partner CSA Czech Airlines www.czechairlines.com. CSA offers nicely-timed connections throughout Eastern Europe out of its Prague hub.
