If independent cafes, cool bars, craft beers and organic farmers markets are your thing then there are a few trendy neighborhoods on the East Coast calling your name. Whether you’re looking for a new hood to hang out in or want to scope out some of the best examples of hipsterville before they become uncool, here are a few great places to visit.

Williamsburg, New York

Move over, Greenwich Village —  there’s a new Big Apple hotspot in town that has captured the hearts of young hipsters everywhere. Yes, of course we’re talking about none other than Williamsburg. From the bustling waterfront to the famous Brooklyn Brewery, and a slew of great restaurants and bars, Williamsburg will have you hooked the moment you cross the Brooklyn Bridge.

Northern Liberties, Philadelphia

This stretch of Philly is home to the best restaurants, clubs and bars – with popular haunts like Silk City and Standard Tap becoming a mecca for the artsy types and creatives that have set up shop here. If Edgar Allan Poe once called this zip code home, you know it’s gotta be good, right?

H Street Corridor, Washington, D.C.

If you’re planning on heading over to Washington your trip just won’t be complete without hitting up the H Street Corridor. It gets extra hipster points for having its own annual street festival – where everyone comes together to celebrate the lively local arts and culture scene.

Hampden, Baltimore

This ‘hood is all about reppin’ the retro cool vibe. With streets lined with pretty rowhouses and plenty of indie shops and cafes to people watch in, Hampden is so cool you won’t want to go home.

Charlestown, Boston

Rich with history, Charlestown has attracted a diverse crowd of young professionals to its quarters, making this one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Boston. Check out the Navy Yard area where you’ll find some of the top cafes and eateries in town, and take a stroll along the picturesque harborwalk. Or better yet, enjoy the views from the water and take a Harbor Ferry toward downtown Boston.
