Water parks all over the world seem to be locked in some sort of thrill-seeking arms race. Rides are getting bigger, better and more badass at all the time – and we love it.

Here’s your chance to test the waters. Check out these awesome videos to wet your water slide appetite.

Booster Loop – Aqua Park, Port-Valais (Lake Geneva, Switzerland)

You step into one of those capsule drops where the floor falls open beneath you. After a terrifyingly steep, fast descent you are shot through a loop before being aggressively spat out at the end.

Wildebeest – Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, Santa Claus (Indiana, USA)

Most water rides are over way too quickly. That’s where the Wildebeest comes into its own. At a third of a mile long, it stands as the world’s longest water ride.

The Wedgie – White Water World, Coomera (Queensland, Australia)

The name of the ride tells you all you need to know. Take a look at how fast you accelerate!

Leap of Faith – Aquaventure at Atlantis (The Palm, Dubai)

On first look Leap of Faith looks like most other steep sharp-shoot rides. But it does have a unique selling point – you reach top speed through a shark tank. Blink and you’ll miss it.

Magic Eye – Paradiset, Örnsköldsvik (Västernorrland County, Sweden)

Okay, so Magic Eye isn’t the fastest ride in the world. Nor is it the steepest. But sometimes you just need a gentler ride, and thanks to its trippy colors and design, this ride certainly does that.

And finally, proof that the best ride doesn’t always translate into the best video – The Black Hole at Wet ‘n Wild in Orlando living up to its name…

Kudos to the people who made these videos! They all showed some pretty handy skills in holding the camera steady while gravity hurtled them at speeds up to and over 40 mph!

Brett hopes to one day reach the shores of far-flung Tristan da Cunha, the most remote of all the inhabited archipelagos on Earth…as to what he’ll do when he gets there, he hasn’t a clue. Over the last 10 years, London, New York, Cape Town and Pondicherry have all proudly been referred to as home. Now it’s Copenhagen’s turn, where he lends his travel expertise to momondo.com.
