If you’ve just come back from a once-in-a-lifetime trip and can’t wait to show your family where you’ve been, there’s a new way to commemorate your travels. Netherlands-based designer Andrew Spitz has created loci, a unique travel souvenir that’s tailored to each individual’s holiday.
A personalized, three-dimensional product, each loci pairs sleek printed maps with colorful arcs that mirror specific flight paths. Maps can include one or multiple itineraries, and colors are all customizable.
There are several ways to input where you’ve been: You can use Foursquare, or input the locations and dates manually online. Then it’s time to get creative and choose the background and colors you want to create the finished map.
As well as seeing a three-dimensional version of your trip, you can also view statistics such as the distance traveled and total number of flights taken. You can even give your trip a name and input the specific dates and times traveled.
The end result looks sleek, stylish and extremely well designed. It’s a great conversation piece, and a great personalized vacation memento. Loci is soon to be transformed into an app called Flying so you can track your travels on the go.
