Wintertime’s a traditionally slow travel period on the transatlantic. Airlines need to fill seats, so they sell some flights cheap. Here are a couple of examples of the savings you can reap by flying when others don’t.
KLM is offering an array of Eurosavings just now. Book and buy no later than Oct. 27. Fly between Oct. 23 and Dec. 14, to the UK between Oct. 29 and Dec. 14. These fares are all-inclusive and roundtrip. A seven-day advance purchase is entailed.
- New York flights to London are $733.
- San Francisco flights to Amsterdam are $963.
- Miami flights to Madrid are $762.
- Chicago flights to Stockholm are $742.
- Houston flights to Amsterdam are $812.
- Boston flights to Barcelona are $732.
Virgin Atlantic is selling cheap flights to London from a slew of cities. Purchase tickets no later than Oct. 27. Fly from Oct. 20 through Dec. 14. Fares are quoted each way, but you’ve got to make a round-trip purchase to get them. Taxes and fees are not included.
- Boston flights to London are $291.
- Los Angeles flights to London are $331.
- Miami flights to London are $300.
- New York flights London are $266.
- Orlando flights to London are $291.
The great thing about traveling to Europe this time of year is that some hotel rates shrink too, as do queues for the best shows and restaurants.
